In November last year, I came across Cathy Garland in a community I am part of called PodMatch. She posted an announcement of the release of her new book, and I was taken by the cover. It was so beautiful that I immediately ordered it. The book is called Known: A Journey Into God’s Identity and Yours. It is a devotional, and yes the content is also beautiful, leading to introspective meditation on the identities of God.
Isn’t it gorgeous?!? 😍
Several weeks later, Cathy sent me a pitch to be on my show. After our introductory call, I sent her a link to book a date on my calendar. She booked for latter half of January, after the hubbub of the holidays had settled down which I appreciated.
The day came, and we recorded the interview. It was a lovely conversation, and I was struck by several things in Cathy’s story. After we finished the recording and ended our call, my friend asked me how it went. I said, “It was lovely.” That’s all I had to say. Just “lovely“.
Two months later, I finally got around to editing the episode. And as I edited, I found myself taking notes. It was two months later that this interview was ministering to me in a way I had not expected. I was stunned about how I needed exactly what Cathy said in January on a day in March. I sent Cathy an email, sharing how that episode was ministering to me now.
Friends, I pray Cathy’s insights also minister to you. She is real and raw about the difficult seasons in her life from deconstructing her faith to being unable to hear the voice of God while she had screws in her head. 😬
Oh, and friend, if it doesn’t minister to you today bookmark it 🔖, perhaps it will minister to you later like it did me. 😉
