My Soul is Weary

My friend asked how I was doing.

I responded, “Okay, I guess.”

She got it.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t know quite how I’m doing.

Okay, I guess.

When I think about it, I think my soul is weary.

Yeah. My soul is weary.

2025 took more out of me than I realized.

Don’t get me wrong. It was a good year.

It just took a lot.

New opportunities required new capacity.

New capacity required new disciplines.

New disciplines required new stretching.

New stretching required new tent pegs.

New tent pegs required firm ground.

And that firm ground is Jesus, the anchor of my soul.

It’s been hard, but He’s my foundation.

As far as I was stretched. He never budged.

He remained steady.

Jesus, my hope.

Jesus, the anchor of my soul.

I spent a couple of days in Psalm 119 and found comfort in these verses.

My soul clings to the dust;
Revive me according to Your word.
I have declared my ways, and You answered me;
Teach me Your statutes.
Make me understand the way of Your precepts;
So shall I meditate on Your wonderful works.
My soul melts from heaviness;
Strengthen me according to Your word.
Remove from me the way of lying,
And grant me Your law graciously.
I have chosen the way of truth;
Your judgments I have laid before me.
I cling to Your testimonies;
O Lord, do not put me to shame!
I will run the course of Your commandments,
For You shall enlarge my heart.
– Psalm 119:25-32 NKJV

Friend, if you also find yourself doing “okay, I guess,” I pray your soul be revived as you rest in the arms of your Savior.

Until next week …

Miracles + Blessings!

In this episode, Brenda explores the reasons why people forget God, focusing on three main themes: trusting our sight over faith, fear, and seduction. Through biblical stories, she illustrates how these factors lead to disobedience and a disconnect from God. The conversation emphasizes the importance of asking questions, maintaining faith, and recognizing the allure of distractions that can lead us away from our spiritual commitments.
