Fighting through Distraction

Truthfully, writing for today’s post was a slog. I had to fight through one particular distraction all day. It wasn’t the kind where I could simply turn off my phone or put on headphones. No, this distraction literally manifested in my body. It took me a while to put a finger on it. Eventually, when I took a moment to be still Holy Spirit told me what it was. But the solution He told me to apply also took time. That frustrated me too, but I had to work through it and check my impatience every time I felt it rise. I still didn’t know what to write for today. Then it became clear, write about fighting through distraction. What’s funny is that several hours earlier, I was praying with two friends, and the Lord pointed me to the following verse,

“Adonai gives the command; the women with the good news are a mighty army.” – Psalm 68:12(11) Complete Jewish Bible

When I read it, I remarked to my friends, “This is why we must press on with the work He’s called us to do. He’s given us the good news!” I didn’t think that for the next several hours I would have to press through to share the good news through this blog, the work He’s given me.

Here are a couple of other translations,

“The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.” – Psalm 68:11 King James Version
“The Lord announces the word, and the women who proclaim it are a mighty throng:” – Psalm 68:11 New International Version

What’s the way you share the good news? It could be by how you raise your children or your position at work. It could be through your business or your art. Maybe it’s through your schoolwork or volunteer work. However it is that the Lord has gifted you to bring the good news, I pray that He will be your strength as you persevere to do your part. I pray that every distraction be bound and discarded in Jesus’ name. And if you don’t know how you are to bring the good news, I pray that you will hear it clearly from Him. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Until next week …
