At the beginning of May, I wrote a post called, When Rest Speaks. In it, I share I had been in a season of asking God questions but not hearing any answers. After a while, I took the cue to just “BE” with Him in His presence. I also alluded to a project I had been asking the Lord about in that post. Well, that project was my book launch party.
If you recall, a friend texted me a question, and as I read her text the Lord gave me the answer to a question I had been asking for weeks, “When should I have my book launch party?” He answered with June, and my friend said she felt the same in her heart that it would be June.
Hallelujah, I finally had my answer!
As if that wasn’t enough, my friend offered to help me with the party and soon after two other friends joined her and said they would like to plan the entire thing! I was blown away! I had felt led to just rest in His presence, and from the place of rest, not only did I get the answer, but He invited my friends to partner with Him to plan the party!
The party was on Tuesday June 24th, and we had such an incredible time. It felt as though God handpicked every guest. There was a love and a grace over the room that couldn’t be manufactured. I was in tears as I shared with the room how beyond my imagination this was. I was literally living Ephesians 3:20,
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,” – Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV)
I’m a stickler for the last part of that verse, “according to the power that works in us“. This party had come to fruition above what I could ask or think according to His power at work in me that called me to enter a place of rest. While conventional wisdom screamed, “you have to have the party as soon as the book releases”. God’s wisdom whispered, “Rest in Me.” (which was three months after the book released). As I mentioned in When Rest Speaks, His ways and thoughts are much higher than my own (Isaiah 55:8-9). I am so glad I rested in Him even when I didn’t understand what He was doing. He already knew what, when, where and how. I just needed to trust that He would eventually show me.
